PUTNAM COUNTY CARING COALITION

CREATING A BRIGHTER TOMORROW

About PCCC

Founded in 2024, the Putnam County Caring Coalition (PC3) was established as a lifeline for our community's unhoused population. At that time, PC3 assumed responsibility for an inclement weather sleeping space provided by First Presbyterian Church, expanding the program into aa temporary overnight safe space 365 nights. This program is referred to as the Temporary Overnight Safe Space (TOSS) and provides approximately 600 sleeping spaces each month.

Why Donate

Homelessness in Palatka has reached critical levels, with over 2,000 individuals experiencing homelessness on any given night according to the latest count. Families, veterans, and youth make up a significant portion of the population.

In 2023, Palatka Daily News reported the number of homeless individuals in Putnam County was reported to be over 500, suggesting a resurgence in homelessness rates. Further analysis from service providers highlights the significant demand for housing and shelter assistance in the area. Housing-related inquiries remain the top request from residents via support lines, such as the United Way's 2-1-1 service, indicating a pressing community need. (https://nefl.211counts.org/).

Within zip code 32177, the United Way's 2-1-1 service reports that almost one-third (32.9%) of all housing and shelter requests were for immediate overnight space. Of those request, no help was available almost half of the time (46%).

Their Goals

By supporting this project, you will provide a lifeline to hundreds of individuals and families each year, offering them the stability and resources they need to rebuild their lives. Together, we can create a lasting impact on homelessness.
